Center and Community Based Developmental Therapy

The goal of our programs are to assist participants to become active members of their community and achieve greater independence. Services are designed to meet the unique needs and interests of each individual. We provide a multitude of services to assist adults with disabilities. They learn the skills and knowledge to function independently in their communities. Our professionals assist in developing, teaching, and maintaining life skills with each participant. This improves their quality of life, enhances their self-esteem, develops positive social behaviors, and promotes community integration.

Programming is committed to enhancing the quality of life of our clients by providing customized training that is focused on helping the individual achieve their highest level of independence. The primary skills in DT services fall into the following categories:

  • Basic Sign Language
  • Phone/Computer Skills
  • Personal/Grocery Shopping/Meal Planning
  • Kitchen Safety/Cooking/Meal Prep

  • Friendships/Healthy Relationships
  • Men's/Women's Group
  • Making Choices/Coping Skills/Problem Solving
  • Basic Money/Budgeting
  • Calendar Skills/Telling Time/Time Managemen
  • Community Integration & Inclusion Activities

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a documented mental or physical disability
  • Be generally able to care for his or her own personal needs
  • Have a third party funding source or be self-paying
  • Refrain from conduct that is dangerous to self or others
  • Refrain from conduct that disrupts or startles others
  • Other specific criteria may apply depending on the service desired

Adult Day Health Services

Our Adult Day Health Services were developed to better meet the needs of individuals with the most significant disabilities and individuals with disabilities who are aging. A variety of activities are offered in a quiet, safe setting, including arts and crafts, board games, and classes in current events, reading, and computers. Recreational outings  are also a part of the program. Services are provided on site in The Den located in th emaon building of Tesh. Providing regular interaction, inclusion and socialization with other participants and employees.

The program is committed to enhancing the quality of life of our participants by providing a healthy, supportive, safe and socially stimulating environment that promotes overall wellness. Programming includes:

  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Assistance with communication skills
  • Therapeutic exercise
  • Music and other forms of creative expression
  • Socialization opportunities
  • Recreational opportunities
  • Group outings when possible
  • Arts and crafts
